Air Meals Offers Exciting Ancillary Services to Delta Air Lines Passengers
In a strategic move designed to help airlines increase non‐ticket revenues, Air Meals is set to become the first company to offer a commercially available pre‐buy solution, allowing carriers to offer expanded in‐flight services to their customers on a flexible, per‐flight basis. While previous solutions required extensive, costly modifications to carriers’ computer reservations systems, and only allowed for limited choices and availability, Air Meals' AM‐1 e‐commerce system is a multi‐channel cloud‐based solution providing virtually unlimited options to fliers.
In‐flight amenities include high‐end meals, children's activity kits, top‐shelf drinks, in‐flight entertainment and headsets, and premium magazines. Other travel enhancement options include premium airport parking, ground transportation, carbon off‐sets, and duty free.
With Air Meals’ solutions, carriers can offer these products effortlessly at multiple customer touch points, including on‐line ticket purchase, web check‐in, airport kiosks, and agent‐based channels.
Founded in Silicon Valley in 2009, Air Meals has made it their mission to become the leading partner in ancillary revenue solutions to all major airline carriers worldwide. Their method? Offering leading software systems, digital marketing services and expertise, and implementation services that enable airlines to ramp revenue quickly. In short, Air Meals can easily help a major carrier generate up to an additional $150M in brand new revenue.
The first carrier to benefit from a trial launch of the new system is Atlanta‐based Delta Airlines, the world’s largest airline in both aircraft fleet and passengers. Delta Air Lines will offer premium meal service to Economy Class customers on select flights between New York, NY (JFK) and Los Angeles, CA (LAX), and New York, NY (JFK) and San Francisco, CA (SFO). Passengers can relax knowing a fresh, chef‐designed meal is waiting for them onboard. Delta customers with a booked itinerary on these flights will have the opportunity to pre‐buy premium meals at a Delta‐branded website with social media tie‐ins or through a call center provided by Air Meals.
